Our Story
Adelaide Hills Sandstone has its roots in the historic Basket Range quarries, which commenced operations over a century ago. Located just 30 minutes from Adelaide, we continue this proud tradition of quarrying and stone craftsmanship. In 2014, we expanded our operations by adding the Carey Gully quarry to our business, allowing us to offer the most diverse range of South Australian sandstone. Since taking over Carey Gully quarry, we have invested in upgrading old machinery, acquiring a new excavator, loader, and telehandler to efficiently move, sort, and weigh the various types of stone found at this site.
In 2022, we amalgamated these two iconic quarries under one umbrella, officially becoming Adelaide Hills Sandstone. This consolidation allows us to streamline our operations and enhance our product offerings.
